Daniel is originally from Nigeria. He holds a B.Sc. in Sociology from the Niger Delta University, Nigeria and M.Sc. in Sociology and Demography from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Post-graduate he worked briefly at the National Population Commission Nigeria where he coordinated small scale research on special populations including landowners, migrant-farmers and homeless persons. He is being supervised by Dr. Kristine Evans on the Human Dimensions of Conservation.
His research is a part of an interdisciplinary project involving Software Developers, GIS Specialist and Conservation Scientist in the development of a Decision Support Tool for landowners participating in the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP). This research adopts social science techniques in exploring the tool production process, while engaging landowners and practitioners, in examining the motivations, and barriers to participating in the CRP.
