My name is Lily Behnam and I am an undergraduate student doing research under Dr. Kristine Evans. I am from Maryland and am double majoring in Animal and Dairy Science and Wildlife, Fisheries, and Aquaculture (both with a pre-vet focus). I am also an early entry student to Mississippi State's vet school, which is where I will be spending my next 4 years after undergrad.
My research interests are very broad, but if the research involves studying animals (livestock, wildlife, companion animals, etc), I am interested. I am particularly interested in microbiology and its many applications to animals. My undergraduate research currently focuses on the ability of zebra finches to use olfactory cues to detect their mates in addition to discovering whether they would preferentially choose their mate over other familiar bird scents. My interests outside of school include running, playing lacrosse, and taking care of my cat named Fish.
