My name is Renae Leighton. I am from central California and I originally attended my local community college and transferred to MSU in the Spring of 2023. I am a junior majoring in Wildlife, Fisheries, and Aquaculture with a concentration in Wildlife Veterinary Medicine. After I get my degree, I plan on taking a year off to work and gain experience then apply to Vet school. My end goal is to work in Wildlife rehabilitation and conservation. I am currently an undergraduate researcher working for Dr. Garrett Street and Jane Dentinger. My research focuses on accelerometers (a sort of animal fit bit) and the issues that go along with it, like time drift and other interference affecting any data collected.
